After months of speculation and rumors, Nintendo is finally ready to confirm that it is planning to launch the new NX home gaming platform at some point during March of 2017 all over the world while saying that its new device is a smart one, although it has not elaborated on the concept.

The Japanese company is saying that this is "a brand-new concept, and our unique software-led hardware-software integrated business will continue to constitute the core business for Nintendo. For the purpose of maximizing the population that interacts with Nintendo IP, we have entered into the smart device gaming business."

According to Nintendo, the plan is to create a synergy between the smart device business and the dedicated game system business that represents the core element of the company's business that will boost profits and will increase My Nintendo features.

According to the team, the plan is to deliver information linked to the actual hardware that powers the NX and the attached price before the end of the year and there are also big plans to reveal details about the unique titles that will be offered on the new hardware.

Nintendo is not using the coming E3 2016 event to talk about its new hardware.

Some rumors about the NX still need to be confirmed or denied

The fact that no details are coming in June and the official launch date being set for March 2017 mean that plenty of rumors about the coming platform have been exposed as false but there are plenty of details that Nintendo needs to talk about.

The NX is rumored to be about as powerful as the NEO version of the PlayStation 4 that Sony is supposed to be working on.

There are also sources claiming that factories in Japan are getting ready to test the manufacturing process associated with the new device and that many of the companies working with Nintendo at the moment are planning to create unique video games for the platform.

The fact that the NX is coming in March 2017 means that there are only two new home consoles that might be offered before the end of the year.

Sony is rumored to be working on the NEO version of the PlayStation 4, which is supposed to improve its graphics capabilities and will offer support for at least some 4K content.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is said to be exploring the possibility of launching a new Slim version of the Xbox One.
