It might not come with metal frames after all

Some of you might remember that the first press render of the Nexus 5 (2015) leaked online over the weekend. The picture shows the back side of the phone, which features the circular camera, the dual-LED (dual tone) flash and the fingerprint sensor.

Today, a new picture of the smartphone coming from the source has been published by AndroidPit. This time we get to see the Nexus 5 (2015) from another angle, but the rest of the phone's design lines remain the same.

The latest render shows the right edge of the Nexus 5 (2015), which includes the power and volume buttons. This looks like a different positioning of the button than the previous Nexus 5 model, but other than that, the form factor, display diagonal and the form factor are pretty similar.

It's also worth mentioning that the Nexus 5 (2015), just like its predecessor, features reverse-angled sides, which should improve the user's grip over the smartphone.

It will be slimmer than the Nexus 5

Also, the Nexus 5 (2015) does seem to be slightly thinner than the Nexus 5, which is one of the reasons the main camera protrudes from the back side.

One other thing that we've learned about the Nexus 5 (2015) or whatever its name will be, is that the smartphone might not feature metal frames. Still, the information hasn't been confirmed yet.

On the specs front, there is no new information, so we're left with what we know until now. This means that the Nexus 5 (2015) is still supposed to pack a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM and a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Rumor has it that Nexus 5 (2015) will cost around $400 outright and Google will open pre-orders for the smartphone on October 13.

However, both Nexus handsets are expected to be officially unveiled on September 29, the same date that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released.
