Famed for being a high-performance DRAM and NAND Flash products manufacturer, ADATA launched its newest gaming-oriented SSD, the XPG SX930 2.5” SATA 6Gb/s.

Claiming to be perfect for overclockers and professional gamers, the XPG SX930 comes with a JMicron controller and Enterprise-grade MLC plus NAND Flash promising excellent performance and durability for gaming system and high-performance computers. Built by XPG (Xtreme Performance Gear) an ADATA sub-brand dedicated to high-performance gaming, the new SSD promises excellent design with long-term performance stability.

The new SSD from ADATA also comes with pSLC Cache Technology and DDR3 DRAM Cache Buffer, something that ADATA claims to exclusively offer on the market. Having sequential read/write speeds of 560/460MB/s and coming in storage sizes varying from 120GB, 240GB and 480GB, ADATA offers a strong and compelling offer to rival the best SSDs from its competition.

The innovative and exclusive ADATA "pSLC Cache Technology" is claimed to enhance transfer speeds with an in-house tech specially designed for gamers. Although not having as much storage space as Kingston's 980GB HyperX Savage top model, the ADATA SX930 will compensate by ruggedness and resilience.

Dedicated to gamers with increased lifespan

The DDR3 DRAM Cache Buffer is indeed unique among SSDs as it boosts read/write performance up to 2 times when compared to other SSDs without a DRAM cache. The SX930 also supports hardware BCH ECC (Error Correction Code) up to 72bits per 1KB providing improved data protection. Together with NCQ, S.M.A.R.T., and Windows TRIM Command, it can boost its data transfer speeds even higher keeping a reliable stability.

Being a standard procedure among SSD manufacturers, the SX930 from ADATA also comes with a free download software named quite plainly "SSD Toolbox," which helps users quickly configure, optimize and monitor the overall health of their drives. This tool also helps users easily set up their system, perform security erase and firmware updates.

One of the main advantages of the SX930 is that it's backed up by a solid 5-year warranty. Although whether ADATA will cover more than a set number of driver writes per day is unknown, the 5-year warranty is better than the 3-year warranties most SSDs come with. This is solid proof that the SX930 is built to last.
