The development team at EA Sports working on NBA Live 16 is ready to offer more details about the implementation of the Ultimate Team mode in the coming NBA Live 16, which features an entirely new type of player and other innovative mechanics.

The official site explains that gamers can now work with Specialists, which arrive as special items that focus on one aspect of a player that gamers already own, with examples including a Stephen Curry who delivers 3-point shots or a LeBron James who has unparalleled defense.

EA Sports explains that gamers can "find Specialists in packs or earn them by completing Master Fantasy Challenges. You’ll have to build teams that meet all kinds of entry requirements to work your way up to the Master challenges. Your main aspiration in Live Ultimate Team this year is acquiring master editions of LUT players."

The rewards scale up as the difficulty level increases, with items worth as much as 75,000 Coins being prepared for gamers.

An entire team of Master level players means gamers will be able to enter a special match where victory allows access to a 96 OVR Master Edition Russell Westbrook.

Ultimate Team in NBA Live 16 is also adding short-term players to deal with some of the above challenges and to give gamers a way to test players in their lineup.

EA Sports is also adding Throwbacks

In the packs that gamers can pick up the new versions of the players, ranging from rookie to Most Valuable Player, were modeled to move and look as they did when some players first saw them in action.

The development team is also including HoopsNet rewards in the Ultimate Team experience, many of which can be accessed by simply playing, even if gamers never deal with all the featured challenges.

EA Sports has had trouble delivering a solid basketball simulation during the past few years, and the NBA 2K series has established itself as the leader in this particular field.

With the new installment, the studio is aiming to improve the animations and the physics to create a better on the court experience while also polishing up the career and the Ultimate Team modes.

NBA Live 16 will be launched on September 29 on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
