We already know Motorola and Verizon plan to unveil the next DROIDs on October 27, so it's time for the first press renders of the smartphones to drop.

With just a few days ahead of the official announcement, @evleaks provided the first images of the DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2.

Both smartphones will be exclusively available in the United States at Verizon Wireless, which is why the carrier put its logo on these devices.

As some of you will notice by looking at these press renders, the DROID Turbo 2 has the Verizon logo on the front side, while the DROID Maxx 2 has it on the back side.

Many Verizon customers hate that Verizon puts its logo on the front of its products, and the only reason the DROID Maxx 2 did not share the same fate as DROID Turbo 2 is the fact that the former comes with dual front speakers.

Verizon's logo is all over them

The DROID Turbo 2 does seem to feature dual-front speakers as well, but the one at the bottom is split in two to make room for Verizon's logo.

On the bright side, at least one of the DROIDs will come with microSD card slot for memory expansion, which is something rare for this family of smartphones.

An info sheet leaked earlier this week confirmed Motorola DROID Turbo 2 would pack microSD card slot, but we expect the DROID Maxx 2 to have one as well.

Anyway, since there are only a few days remaining until the official unveiling of the smartphones, we will have to wait for details on their specs to be confirmed by Motorola.

The same goes for availability and pricing options though there's a high chance that both DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2 will go on pre-order in just a few days after their outing.
