14 DAY TRIAL // Mojang has been teasing the next major update for the Pocket Edition of Minecraft for quite some time now. After delaying it for about a month, version 0.12.1 has finally been released, but it's only available on Windows Phone platform.
According to developers, the plan was to make Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.12.1 available on all three platforms at the same time, but it looks like Android and iOS gamers will have to wait a little bit longer.
The official changelog contains some of the most important changes included in this update, but there are a lot more that haven't been listed. Here is what we know so far about Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.12.1:
- Underworld and its inhabitants. Fight Ghast and make friends with Pigman! - Play with up to five players from the Pocket Edition and Windows 10 versions. - Improved touch controls, media controllers and controller configuration menu.
- Weather evolved! New effects, including the accumulation of snow. - Ocelots! Try to rule them with fish. - Experience, anvils, distillation and enchantments. Do not limit your creativity. - Golems. We recommend that you approach them with caution. - Flower pots. We'll want to fill them with flowers.
- Walking stealthily and flies! Move freely! - Numerous bug fixes that we avoid list for not bored. - And much, much more!
The latest update is deployed globally in Windows Store
The new version of the game is slowly rolled out in all countries, so if it doesn't show in your region yet, you can try again later.
As mentioned earlier, the Android and iOS versions are expected to hit Google Play Store and App Store, respectively, any moment now.
You can now download Minecraft: Pocket Edition for Windows Phone for €6.89 via Windows Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 and up.
