Microsoft has just rolled out a new build of Windows 10 Mobile, but this time there’s something really exciting in addition to the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.

Windows 10 Mobile build 14267 is the very first release that’s part of the Redstone branch for smartphones, so with this version, Microsoft starts a new chapter in the development of its mobile operating system.

What’s very important to note is that this new build is only available for new Lumia devices, including Lumia 950, 950 XL, and 550, but also Xiaomi Mi4.

And since it’s such an important release, several new features and options are also included, some of which you’ve already heard before in the PC version of build 14267.

For example, the Messaging app now comes with support for photos, so if you’re chatting with a contact using this app, you can now share pictures with a built-in option. Additionally, it also allows you to use the phone’s camera to take a photo and send it instantly.

Microsoft Edge browser improvements

Microsoft Edge has also received a bunch of improvements, including a new place for the inPrivate mode that makes a little bit more sense. The button has been moved to the app bar, making it easier to access this option when needed.

“We take the need for private browsing seriously, and InPrivate has been a feature of Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 Mobile from day one. However, we received feedback from Windows Insiders that the InPrivate feature was either hard to find or missing on their phones. As a result, we’ve moved the button to create a new InPrivate tab to appear right next to the new tab button. The next time you need a private tab in Microsoft Edge, you’ll find it right in your tabs view. Try it out on your phone and let us know what you think,” Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, explained.

Additionally, Edge is also benefiting from Word Flow support in the address bar, but also from new prompts that show up when downloading files.

Obviously, there are also several bug fixes and known issues in this build and you can check them all in the box after the jump.
