Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 theme, but just like before, it all comes down to a collection of high-resolution wallpapers for your desktop.

Called “The Grand Canyon National Park,” this theme includes 16 desktop backgrounds, and it can be used on any Windows 10 version beginning the with the Fall Creators Update and newer.

Microsoft rolls out themes for Windows 10 on a regular basis, but the only thing they bring is wallpapers. At the same time, the company is also working on updating the visual styles in the operating system with more modern looks, though these are only available on the latest versions of Windows 10.

Windows 10 April 2019 Update, also known as version 1903 and 19H1, comes with a new light mode that completely refines the look of the OS. It also includes new icons and a refreshed look for the Start menu that provides more options to users in addition to the dark mode already available in Windows 10.

How to set the theme

The themes here are different, however, and Microsoft keeps rolling them out occasionally to provide users with a way to customize their desktops.

“The Grand Canyon National Park” can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store and then enabled from Settings > Personalization > Themes. Just make sure that you create a backup of your existing theme before switching to the new one.

“Take in the sunrise on the North Rim, sunset on the South Rim, Hopi Point at dusk, and Horseshoe Bend under the stars in this 16-image set, free for Windows 10 Themes. These images are to be used as desktop wallpaper only,” Microsoft explains.

Once you enable the theme on your device, you can then go to the next or previous background by simply right-clicking the desktop background.
