October 6 is the day when Microsoft is expected to unveil some of its latest and hottest devices, including the Surface Pro 4, the second-generation Band, and Lumia 950 and 950 XL, two flagships that will run Windows 10 Mobile from the very beginning.

Microsoft hasn’t provided any kind of details about these two phones, but we already know part of their features and what they are expected to look like, and thanks to a Spanish retailer, we also get the very first look at the official pricing.

Before anything, keep in mind that these details are not yet confirmed to be accurate, so they could very well be fake too. This means that we should take everything with a pinch of salt until Microsoft actually shares more info about its phones.

Lumia 950 - €659, Lumia 950 XL - €749

According to this listing, the Lumia 950 could launch with a price of approximately €659 (that’s nearly $750), while its bigger brother could cost €749 ($840). Both could come with dual-SIM support.

In terms of specs, the Lumia 950 will have a 5.2-inch display, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, a 3000 mAh battery, and a Snapdragon 808 processor, while the XL will have a 5.7-inch screen and almost the same specs, but with a Snapdragon 810 CPU. Both will come with USB Type-C, a 5-megapixel camera on the front and a 20-megapixel unit on the back.

New features such as an iris scanner and Continuum will also be available, leaks have suggested.

Versus iPhone pricing

If the above pricing is real, this means the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL might be more affordable than the entry-level iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, so it’ll be interesting to see how Microsoft’s new devices perform against Apple’s.

The new iPhone 6s is priced at £539 in the United Kingdom, which is about $835 at the current exchange rates. This means the 4.7-inch iPhone will be approximately $85 more expensive than the Lumia 950.

As far as the phablet race is concerned, the iPhone 6s Plus costs £619 in the UK (approximately $960), so again, it’s $120 more expensive than the Lumia 950 XL.

These are the prices for the entry-level iPhone models and it’s also worth noting that Microsoft is believed to be planning a €200 accessory pack that would be shipped with every device.

Overall, Apple’s iPhone will continue to be more pricey than Microsoft’s Lumias, but time will tell if the software giant’s new phones have anything that can compete against the outstanding reliability, performance, and premium feeling of the devices manufactured by its Cupertino rival.
