14 DAY TRIAL // The only new smartphone launched by Microsoft this year, the Lumia 650 belongs to the mid-range segment, though it comes with a few entry-level specs inside.
The major selling point of the Lumia 650 is the fact that it comes with Windows 10 Mobile operating system right out of the box, which, at this price, can only be offered by Lumia 550.
However, the Lumia 550 is a low-end smartphone, so it's not meant for those who want to upgrade to a better Windows Phone handset.
Microsoft's cheapest Windows 10 Mobile handset targets customers who want a second phone or those who wish to try out Windows 10 Mobile but are not willing to spend too much on a smartphone.
The Lumia 650 has been quietly launched by Microsoft about two weeks ago and already made its debut in many countries by now, but not in India.
One of the countries where Windows Phone still sells well, India will get the Lumia 650 sometime next month. According to NPU, Microsoft might introduce the Lumia 650 on or around March 2.
Even if the smartphone is not available for purchase on the same day, it should go on sale by mid-March. The price for which customers will be able to grab the Lumia 650 is Rs 14,999 ($220 / €200) outright.
Microsoft might launch the dual-SIM model in India
This is the rumored price, so it might be slightly bigger or lower, depending on Microsoft's decision. Unlike the international version of Lumia 650, we expect the Redmond-based company to launch the dual-SIM model in India since this is a mandatory feature in this country.
Other than that we don't expect any changes specs-wise, so it will be the same smartphone that sports a 5-inch HD (720p) display that features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating, as well as a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor.
Also, the Lumia 650 packs 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card slot. On the back, the phone features an 8-megapixel camera, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.
