It will be available on all platforms by the end of February

Having recently launched Minecraft: Pocket Edition version 0.14 on Android platform, Microsoft has announced that another major update will be released for all key operating systems by the end of this month.

The Overworld Update will be available for both Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta and Minecraft: Pocket Edition on the iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.

Along with the release announcement, Microsoft has also shared more details about the new features and improvements included in the Overworld Update, and judging by all the stuff listed, players should definitely get excited.

First of all, developers plan to make more advanced mechanical contraptions for the Minecraft world with additional Redstone components.

Mojang plans to add comparators, repeaters, dispensers, droppers, hoppers, trapped chests, and various other Minecart types.

New achievements, new gameplay elements

A new feature included in the witch huts found while exploring the swamps will be available as well. It looks like witches cauldrons will be filled with a randomly generated potion that players will be able to grab and make it their own if they wish.

Moreover, all cauldrons can be used to dye your armor in any color you want. Item Frames is another new feature that will allow players to display their best loot in their homes.

Other new features added with the Overworld Update include slime blocks, wearable pumpkins, red sandstone, as well as improved chicken jockey mobs.

Developers have also announced that they will be adding the ability to import and export maps into the Windows 10 Edition Beta, which will make it easier for players to share their favorite worlds with friends.

Last but not least, eight new achievements will be available for those who are interested in Gamescore ranking: Camouflage, Dispense With This, Tie Dye Outfit, Map Room, Trampoline Bounce, Freight Station, Smelt Everything!, and Taste of Your Own Medicine.
