Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile build 10549 to Windows Insiders, but upgrading to this version won't be as easy as fans would have hoped for.

Due to a bug discovered recently, Windows Insiders won't be able to upgrade to build 10549 unless they go back to Windows Phone 8.1.

We have already reported on the matter earlier today and we've already mentioned what's new in Windows 10 Mobile build 10549.

Those who are willing to upgrade to the latest build, even if that implies going back to Windows Phone 8.1, might want to know what the known issues in this version are.

But first, let's mention something that will make Lumia 1020 users happy. It looks like Lumia Camera app will no longer be uninstalled when you update to this version of Windows 10 Mobile, so you will be able to continue to use it when you update from Windows Phone 8.1.

You can't make WhatsApp calls from this build

One of the few known issues in this build, beside the fact that you can't upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile 10549 from a previous technical preview version, would be the fact that after upgrade, you might be missing a few apps.

The only workaround offered by Microsoft for this issue would be to reset your phone and hope that any of the missing apps will reappear.

Also, after rebooting the phone, you won't see notifications, such as new messages, until the phone is unlocked for the first time. After that, you should see notifications for new messages without any problems. A fix for this issue has been confirmed in a later build.

Last but not least, it appears that you won't be able to make calls with Skype for Business, WhatsApp and other apps after upgrading to this build.

The only workaround for this issue would be to uninstall and reinstall these applications directly from the Windows Store.
