SEGA is the publisher currently in charge of some of the most interesting modern strategy series, and the company is announcing that it is planning to launch the third edition of its Make War, Not Love event on February 14, allowing gamers to compete to show the popularity of their favorite title.

Company of Heroes 2, the real-time strategy experience focused on World War II, Total War: Attila, the RTS and turn-based combination focused on the post-Roman period, and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2, which explores the wars of the far future, are involved this time around.

Gamers who take part in Make War, Not Love will be able to choose their favorite title from the bunch and accumulate points for it by playing and winning matches, with special rewards delivered to the experience that manages to lead for each 48-hour period.

Once a week passes, the winning title will also reveal and unlock a unique piece of brand-new downloadable content as a reward for the community that supports it, although neither Relic nor The Creative Assembly are offering any details about it at the moment.

Company of Heroes 2, Total War: Attila and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 will be offered with a 75 percent price cut for the duration of the new Make War, Not Love event, although it is unclear whether this includes all launched downloadable content packs for them.

The three video games will also be free-to-play via the Steam digital distribution service between Thursday, 18 February at 9 PM Greenwich Mean Time to Saturday, February 20 at the same time.

Total War: Warhammer arrives this year

Of the three franchises, just one has a new title launching in the coming months, with The Creative Assembly putting the finishing touches on its first experience that is based on a fantasy universe rather than classic real world history.

Total War: Warhammer will allow players to take on the role of the Empire, the Greenskins, the Vampire Counts and the Dwarfs as they seek to stop the assault of Chaos upon the Old World, with a range of unique battle and strategic map mechanics.

The Creative Assembly says that it wants to stay as close to the fictional universe as possible when it comes to units and faction concepts while also making sure that the combat is fun and engaging in the long-term.

The strategy experience will be launched only on the PC on April 28 and those who are ready to place a pre-order will get access to another faction to use.

Fans of Dawn of War have been asking Relic to make an official announcement about the future of the series for a few years, but despite some small hints that a new title is being created, no information has been offered.

The studio is currently focused on Company of Heroes 2, which is still getting both new Commanders for the featured factions and balance patches, and it seems that the team might be ready to announce another expansion that will deliver a new side to play as.
