The V10, LG’s unexpectedly popular high-end smartphone, was launched back in October with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system onboard.

Although the main selling point of the handset is the dual-screen feature, LG has decided to make it more appealing by delivering the latest version of Android.

The first carrier in the Unites States to offer the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is Verizon Wireless. The Big Red has just confirmed that, starting March 24, LG V10 owners will be able to download Android 6.0 Marshmallow on their smartphones.

Keep in mind, though, that your phone’s battery should be fully charged and that it’s connected to a Wi-Fi network. The update is available via Verizon’s mobile network as well.

If you own the Verizon-branded LG V10, you should head over to Settings / About Phone / Software updates / Check for Update, and if software version VS99022A shows up, then tap on the Download now.

Material Design comes with the new update

Android 6.0 Marshmallow should bring for LG V10 owners new features like Now on Tap, Doze mode, Runtime permissions, Silent mode, Direct Share, Google settings, Controlling notifications, and many more.

But the most obvious change is the visuals. Android 6.0 Marshmallow puts Material Design on the LG V10, and that’s the first thing you will notice.

The Now on Tap feature will provide you with relevant information cards at a touch of a button. On top of that, this new feature anticipates the information you might need.

The new Doze mode optimizes battery power when the LG V10 is not used, thus helping extend the charge. For example, you can choose not to receive notifications in Doze mode, or you can select which apps to be able to send you notifications when this mode is enabled.

With Direct Share, users will be able to share content directly to a contact or conversation within an application. Last but not least, with Marshmallow, you will have more control over Notifications, as you can now choose which apps to display notifications on the current screen.
