The third LG Phoenix smartphone is about to make its debut in the United States. Just like its other two predecessors, the LG Phoenix 3 will go on sale at AT&T at an affordable price.

The carrier has already confirmed the budget-friendly smartphone will be available starting March 10. AT&T GoPhone customers will be able to pick this one for $80 online at the carrier's store, in one of the more than 5,000 brick and mortar stores or at authorized retailers.

LG Phoenix 3 is a low-end smartphone, which is why it's so cheap. It doesn't even ship with Android 7.0 Nougat on board or any other nifty features. Instead, LG has decided to put Android 6.0 Marshmallow inside, probably due to the modest hardware configuration.

As a matter of fact, the new LG Phoenix 3 is $20 cheaper than the previous models which launched at AT&T for just $100 outright. One would think that LG will at least make some slight adjustments to the affordable smartphone to make it more appealing, but that didn't happen.

Not much of an improvement over the previous model

For example, LG and AT&T have confirmed the Phoenix 3 will come equipped with a quad-core processor, probably provided by MediaTek, as well as 1GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage space.

The smartphone packs a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls, which also comes with LED flash.

Last but not least, the Phoenix 3 sports a 5-inch display that supports a very modest FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution.

The only thing that's been slightly improved over the previous model is the 2,500 mAh battery that powers the LG Phoenix 3. The rest of the phone's specs are either the same or have been downgraded.
