LG’s upcoming G6 flagship has long been rumored to be featured with an MST mobile payment solution, but it seems that LG might have changed its mind. South Korean news outlet Newsis reports that the LG Pay won’t be featured on the G6.

LG has apparently made major development changes to the LG Pay service and the company has run out of time for implementing the solution on its newest flagship. An LG spokesperson told the news agency that LG hasn’t given up on plans to develop the technology and it’s still considering which solutions could be used to market LG Pay.

It’s unclear at this point if and when the new service will be launched. And this is not the first LG service to experience delays, as LG White Card was delayed multiple times. In September last year, the company decided to push the launch of mobile payment solutions to 2017, but didn’t reveal the reason behind this delay.

LG G6 will be announced on February 26

LG has already signed partnerships with banks from South Korea in preparation for its mobile service. LG’s MST mobile payment solution was expected to take on big players in the industry, like Samsung Pay and Apple Pay.

Now that LG won’t be launching the LG Pay with the G6, users could still get Android Pay for conducting such transactions. We’ve also heard that Samsung Pay Mini will be made available to non-Galaxy phones as well, which means there are alternatives.

LG G6 is expected to be launched in the US on April 7, while South Koreans will be able to buy it on March 9. The smartphone will come with a 5.7-inch Full Vision display with 2880 x 1440 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.

It’s also expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat and Snapdragon 821 CPU with up to 6GB of RAM. The smartphone could also have waterproof protection, perhaps IP67 or IP68 certification.
