The fingerprint sensor is also confirmed for the back side

We reported over the weekend that LG plans to launch its new flagship smartphone, the G5, at MWC 2016 trade fair. Even if that won't happen, we have already learned quite a lot about the upcoming device, including the fact that it will come with a dual-camera setup.

The first images of the alleged LG G5 were leaked a few days ago and confirmed the dual-camera setup, along with a few other specs that haven't been made official yet, such as the fingerprint sensor on the back.

Today, a new set of images coming from a case maker (via GSMArena) confirm the unusual camera on the back of the LG G5.

The dual-camera setup on the back of the LG G5 is shown in these pictures, but no additional details have been leaked on this piece of hardware.

Another feature confirmed by these photos is the presence of the circular fingerprint sensor, which is positioned right below the dual-camera setup.

USB Type-C port, unusual positioning of power button

The bottom side of the phone looks like it will feature a USB Type-C port, which comes in line with the latest images showing an alleged LG G5 prototype unit.

However, it's unclear where the power on/off button will be placed since it doesn't seem to appear on either side of the smartphone.

Our best bet is that, if it isn't be put on the right or left side of the LG G5, it will most likely be inside the fingerprint sensor or somewhere near it.

LG has recently hinted at a new marketing strategy in which the South Korean company is ready to compete with another giant in the industry, Samsung.

This is probably one of the reasons many sources claim LG G5 might be officially unveiled around the same timeframe as Samsung Galaxy S7. Only time will tell if LG is ready to take on Samsung on the high-end tier.
