The LG V10 is a nice surprise for the South Korean company, as the smartphone became more popular than LG would have hoped.

Although the smartphone should have been initially limited to the South Korean market, LG has decided to release it in additional countries due to high demand.

Apparently, the success of the V10 gave LG the idea of including the smartphone's primary trait, a secondary smaller display, into more of its products.

The folks over at VentureBeat report a source familiar with LG's plans confirmed the South Korean company wants to launch more dual-display smartphones in 2016.

One of these devices is the G5, LG's upcoming flagship smartphone. The LG G5 will sport a 5.3-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, as well as a secondary 160 x 1040 pixels display.

But that won't be the only main selling point of the LG G5, as the handset maker plans to add a dual-lenses camera, which will give the 16-megapixel rear-facing camera a 135-degree wide-angle capability.

“In between the two lenses is a circle with a quartet of elements in a square configuration, according to the briefed individual, who was also shown images of the upcoming flagship.

“Two of those are LED flash bulbs, while another one is a laser for assisting with autofocus, first deployed on 2014’s LG G3. The fourth element is also found on G4: a so-called RGB sensor to further assist with autofocus and other scene-recognition functions,” says the report.

Smaller battery, only 3GB RAM

Another interesting new feature included in the LG G5 is called Magic Slot. This feature is believed to be capable of enabling some functional expansion using hardware modules. For example, users could add a physical keyboard to the smartphone, an action camera, 360 VR, or even an audio amplifier.

The functionality of Magic Slot is still unclear, but we do know for sure that LG G5 will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage inside.

It will also pack a fingerprint sensor on the back cover and a slightly smaller 2,800 mAh battery in comparison with LG G4's 3,000 mAh battery.

The good news is LG G5 will sport a smaller display and a much more energy efficient processor, so the smaller battery should provide similar usage time or better.
