Star covers Nylon, talks being a celebrity and an actress

Since April 2014, former “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart has been romantically linked in the media to good friend Alicia Cargile. She never said anything “on the record” about being in a gay relationship, but in recent months, she no longer made an effort to hide the nature of her relationship with Alicia from the paparazzi.

That's the only coming out the world is going to get from her, she tells the latest issue of Nylon magazine. She’s not hiding anymore, but she’s not going to “come out” by discussing her orientation with the press.

Why does it matter if she’s straight or not?

This is perhaps Kristen’s most personal and revealing interview so far. She’s famously media-shy and hardly ever talks about her personal life when she’s doing media rounds for a new movie, as is the case now, when she’s promoting the stoner action comedy “American Ultra.”

At most, Kristen will talk about how uncomfortable she is in the public eye and how she doesn’t want to be a celebrity, but an actress. She still says these things to Nylon, but she also says this: she doesn’t get it why people would care if she’s straight or a lesbian.

She likes to imagine a future, 3 or 4 years from now, when no one will pay attention to these things because it will no longer be deemed “newsworthy.”

Until then, she plans to keep a low profile, just like she’s done so far.

“Google me, I’m not hiding,” she says, when asked about Alicia. “If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it. But I am an actress, man. I live in the [expletive]-ing ambiguity of this life and I love it. I don’t feel like it would be true for me to be like, ‘I’m coming out!’ No, I do a job. Until I decide that I’m starting a foundation or that I have some perspective or opinion that other people should be receiving… I don’t. I’m just a kid making movies.”

Kristen Stewart is still amazing in interviews

Even at her “worst,” when she was clearly fed up with playing the media game on the “Twilight” promo trail and she’d often answer with sarcasm or certain disrespect, Kristen always gave interesting interviews.

She may be a tad too angsty for some tastes, but she offers a good look at what it’s like to be a celebrity because she doesn’t like to pretend she enjoys everything that goes with it.

The same applies to this Nylon interview: Kristen talks about her endorsement with Chanel and how fashion allows her to express herself as an artist differently, being a skater girl and whether she stays in touch with her ex Robert Pattinson.

On that last topic, she makes sure to stress she would never speak about it in an interview, if she were still in contact with him.
