The other day, an interview published in The Mirror, with Kristen Stewart’s mother Jules Stewart, effectively put an end to rumors on the actress’ orientation by outing her as bisexual. Jules was also quoted as confirming that Kristen was dating longtime personal assistant and good friend Alicia Cargile, to whom she’d been linked romantically since April 2014.
According to Jules, there’s only one problem with that: she never said those things to Sharon Feinstein, who interviewed her for the British publication.
Jules never outed her daughter
In a statement to Us Weekly, Jules says that the entire Mirror piece, in which she raved about Alicia and how amazing it was that her daughter Kristen had found someone to love again after the Robert Pattinson breakup, is a lie.
She admits she spoke to Sarah from the Mirror but stresses that the entire chat focused on her new movie and her views on LGBT rights, and nothing else beyond that.
Alicia’s name came up once, and she said she found her a “lovely girl,” but from that to confirming that she was dating Kristen is a step she never made.
“I spoke to Sharon Feinstein about my film K-11 that has been put on display in the Hollywood Museum,” Jules says. “It’s currently there under the LGBT banner on the third floor. She also asked me about my views on gay rights, which I was happy to express. Then we talked briefly about the fundraiser I am hosting for TheWolfConnection.org. Never ever did we discuss Kristen!”
In other words, she’s accusing the reporter of taking her words out of context to basically construct an interview that never took place.
Reporter fights back
And here’s where things get really interesting: given that Kristen was part of the “Twilight” phenomenon, she is one of the most popular and in-demand young actresses of the day.
As you may imagine, The Mirror interview, in which her mother outed her as bisexual, made headlines around the world: first of all, she is Kristen and she’s famous, and secondly, it came to confirm months-old rumors about her and Alicia.
Feinstein stands by the version of the story printed in the tab, as you can see from her tweets below. She says she has the tapes of her chat with Jules, which will confirm that she really did out her own daughter and thus expose her for a liar.
She first promised to post them on Twitter, but experienced some technical difficulties. Before signing off a few hours ago, she promised she would upload the tapes sometimes today, to prove that she’s a proper journalist with integrity, and not someone who’d fake a story out of quotes on a different topic.
I intend to load my tape of the interview I did with Kristen Stewart's mother Jules in two clips. Watch this space

When someone has spoken to a journalist in good faith it isn't fair to
