14 DAY TRIAL // Actress Kaley Cuoco must have gotten a lot of “Ha, I told you so’s!” when she announced she was divorcing husband of 21 months Ryan Sweeting in September, but she’s choosing to focus on the positive side of the experience.
In her first post on social media acknowledging the split from the former tennis champ, the “Big Bang Theory” star thanks her fans for their support and kind thoughts as she goes through this difficult time.
Kaley Cuoco speaks, but not of her ex
You can see Kaley’s post on Instagram below. If we didn’t know she was going through a divorce, which, to boot, is threatening to get nasty very soon, we would probably not make much of it.
“I’m feeling completely overwhelmed with the outpouring of kindness and support from the people that surround me and from those I have never even met,” she writes. “I want you to know, I read all your comments and your sweet words have touched me deeply. I’m incredibly grateful for all your love as I start this next chapter in my life đź’— đź’—”
Kaley doesn’t mention her estranged husband or the divorce, but because the split has been occupying a lot of space in the tabloids and the blogosphere, the mere fact that she’s acknowledging it publicly means a lot.
This is her way of letting her fans know that she’s doing ok and keeping an eye on whatever they tell her on the various channels made available to them.
Divorce may turn nasty soon
Kaley and Ryan tied the knot after a whirlwind romance that saw him move in with her after the first date, getting engaged after 3 months and married on New Year’s Eve shortly afterwards.
For 21 months, the two made a public display of how happy they were as a married couple on social media, often speaking out to deny reports of trouble. Then, at the end of last month, the divorce announcement dropped out of the blue, and Kaley proceeded to removing every single mention of Ryan on her social media.
This was probably the first sign of trouble. The second one came the other day, when it emerged that Ryan was asking for spousal support from Kaley, and also for her to pay his attorney fees.
The two have a prenup, but speculation has it that must include some kind of loophole that Ryan is now trying to exploit to his advantage. He is worth more than 10 times less money than Kaley, and celebrity pundits predict the divorce will be as nasty as the marriage was short.
