Apple today released the second public beta updates of its upcoming iOS 11.2, macOS 10.13.2 High Sierra, and tvOS 11.2 operating system to public beta testers.

The Public Beta 2 updates come, as expected, exactly 24 hours after Apple seeded the Developer Beta 2 software updates for iOS 11.2, macOS High Sierra 10.13.2, tvOS 11.2, as well as watchOS 4.2 to registered developers, though the latter isn't available for public beta testing.

The new public beta releases include the same bug fixes and improvements that Apple's engineers implemented in the second beta developer updates for iOS 11.2, macOS High Sierra 10.13.2, and tvOS 11.2, which should be out in their final form sometime at the end of the month.

Apple Pay Cash now available on iOS 11.2 and watchOS 4.2

One of the biggest changes introduced with this beta release is Apple Pay Cash direct person-to-person payment system, which is implemented in the Messages app. Apple Pay Cash lets you send and receive cash in iMessages, and it's now available for public testing in the iOS 11.2 operating system.

If you're running last week's first public beta release of iOS 11.2, macOS 10.13.2 High Sierra, or tvOS 11.2 on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, or Apple TV device, you need to update to Public Beta 2 as soon as possible via the OTA (Over-the-Air) update system on iOS and tvOS.

macOS users running the macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 Public Beta release will be able to update to Public Beta 2 via the Mac App Store application, under the Updates tab. Newcomers can read our in-depth tutorial (herehere and here) to learn how to install the iOS 11.2, macOS High Sierra 10.13.2, and tvOS 11.2 Public Betas.

If you decide to jump on the iOS, macOS, and tvOS public beta bandwagon, we have to warn you that these are pre-release versions that you shouldn't install on your devices if you're looking for a very stable and reliable experience. These betas are only released for serious testers who know what they're doing.
