Apple has issued a new update to users of iPhoto '09 addressing importing and stability issues, as well as correcting references. iPhoto '09 users are encouraged to download and install the latest version of iPhoto available, as it also resolves an 8.0.3-specific (potential) crash.

On the Support section of its website, Apple details the 8.0.4 update to iPhoto as follows:

About iPhoto 8.0.4 Update

This update addresses a rarely encountered issue involving photos imported into a previous version that could affect overall stability, and corrects references to a few points of interest and location names that were labeled incorrectly.

The update is recommended for all users of iPhoto '09.

The company responsible for the Mac operating system then links to an additional Support piece where it is revealed that iPhoto 8.0.3 may cause iPhoto '09 to quit unexpectedly after you open it. Apple advises upgrading to iPhoto 8.0.4 to resolve this issue. Even if you haven’t been experiencing this issue, it’s always good to keep your software up-to-date.

iPhoto version 8.0.4 was posted on June 30, 2009 and labeled DL856. The package weighs in at a heavy 102.27MB and requires Mac OS X no lower than 10.5.6, as well as the iLife suite it is bundled in. Supported languages include the usual bunch (Deutsch, English, Français, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Dansk, Norsk Bokmål, Polski, Português, Português Brasileiro, Pусский, Suomi, Svensk, Chinese, Japanese and Korean).

As you would imagine, iPhoto 8.0.4 incorporates the changes and enhancements delivered with iPhoto 8.0.3, released earlier in June. At the time, the Mac maker offered detailed information on the update by linking to a similar support piece. There, it was said that iPhoto 8.0.3 would improve the software in all areas, including Faces, Places, Facebook and MobileMe support, and Slideshows.
