SaskTel and MTS have recently announced that they will launch Apple's iPhone 4 on April 26th. Both regional carriers are among the last to offer the smartphone to Canadian customers.

While SaskTel provides services to 13 cities, 535 smaller communities and surrounding rural areas, MTS (Manitoba Telecom Services) is the primary carrier in the Canadian province of Manitoba, and the fourth largest telecommunications provider in Canada.

It is expected that a new range of price plans will become available, along with the iPhone 4, but both carriers have yet to announce them officially.

Dubbed one of the most innovative phones in the world, the iPhone 4 features an incredible Retina display with crisp text, images and video.

After overwhelming demand, SaskTel is extremely pleased to bring iPhone 4 to our customers in Saskatchewan,” said Bill Boyd, Minister Responsible for SaskTel.

SaskTel remains committed to offering the best network and we're sure our customers will love using the innovative iPhone 4 on SaskTel’s leading network.”

Powered by Apple's A4 chip, the iPhone 4 sports a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, HD video recording and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (Wi-Fi hotspot included).

Apparently, Manitobans will be able to purchase the iPhone 4 on a new three-year contract only. While the 16GB model will be priced at $159.99, the 32GB will be available for $269.99.

Three category plans will be offered to MTS customers, with prices ranging from $44.99 (1GB of data included) to $74.99 (unlimited data plan).

We are thrilled to be launching iPhone 4 and we know many of our customers have been patiently waiting for this day.” said Kelvin Shepherd, President, MTS.

With our unlimited data plans and free access to all MTS Wi-Fi Hotspots, we believe our customers will benefit from the best iPhone tariffs in Manitoba.”
