Given the fact that tablets are slowly, but surely becoming the mobile companions of choice for quite a lot of entrepreneurs and business men (and women) from all over the world, the idea of them being turned into video-conferencing tools is also becoming increasingly interesting, with Vidyo being one of the first companies to actually do something about it.

So, the company, that has really managed to make a serious name for itself over the past couple of years in the video-conferencing segment, has come up with the VidyoTechnology Software Development Kit (SDK), that will enable developers to come up with a variety of applications enabling fast and easy communication between devices such as the Apple iPad 2, or the Motorola XOOM tablet and Atrix smartphone.

The creation of dedicated applications around this SDK will enable users to join video conferences from just about wherever they might be at any given moment, and using just about any type of mobile device, as long as its conferencing client has been specifically adapted to the respective product's hardware configuration.

Vidyo’s SDK and APIs are available today for devices running Android, Windows and iOS operating systems, and it seems that their popularity will further increase on the future, as these portable devices become even more widespread and popular.

And, to be perfectly honest, that's pretty much the direction the world is heading to anyways, with scores of new tablets being expected to hit the market in the near future, some of which will certainly become the tools of choice for the enterprise segment.

And given the need for constant communication and updates in the business sector, we're pretty sure that solutions such as the one offered by Vidyo will certainly become a whole more popular on the future, perhaps even rendering their “classic” counterparts obsolete.
