14 DAY TRIAL // Ubisoft announced over the weekend that after one month in open beta, Hyper Scape will be released on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on August 11. The battle royale shooter will be free-to-play and will be regularly updated with new content in the forms of seasons, just like The Division series.
The debut season of Hyper Scape is called “The First Principle” and will most likely come with specific events and rewards. According to Ubisoft, players will be given access to new gameplay content, new Hyper Scape Crowncast features, as well as more information about the game's lore throughout the first Season.
It's important to mention that Hyper Scape supports cross-progression on all platforms, so console owners who played the open beta on PC, can get all the cosmetic items they purchased or unlocked on their Xbox One or PlayStation 4 when the game launches.
Those already familiar with the game will be happy to know that Hyper Scape’s first season introduces a brand new mid-range weapon, the Dragonfly, as well as a new hack, Magnet, which can be used to trap unsuspecting contenders.
Also, Season One will include a total of 11 guns and 11 hacks. In addition to Solo and Squad Crown Rush, additional limited-time game modes are also planned for Season One.
Of course, a new battle pass will be available once Hyper Scape launches next week. It will include new customization items, as well as 100 tiers of exclusive cosmetic items to unlock during the Season. The premium track of the Battle Pass is available for 950 Bitcrowns, the in-game currency, but a free track will lower rewards will be available for players too.
More importantly, the in-game currency, Bitcrowns is earned by simply playing the game, or by purchasing packs of Bitcrowns with real money on the Ubisoft or first-party stores. Last but not least, viewers can progress their Battle Pass simply by watching Hyper Scape streams on Twitch with the Hyper Scape Crowncast extension enabled.
