Romanian PR company sends one-lens glasses to promote the P9

Despite the fact that it’s April Fools’ Day, we’re not going to play a prank on you, Huawei fans, since the P9 is real, although we haven’t had the chance to get our hands on one.

However, we found it really funny and refreshing that a company like Huawei teases and promotes its upcoming products in unusual ways. That is exactly what’s happening here in Romania, where every tech journo has received glasses that feature just one lens.

Each of these pairs of glasses comes along with a short letter that says we’ve received this present to realize that two lenses are always better than just one. I also hear that we’re going to get the other lens after Huawei P9 is launched, but I haven’t gotten any confirmation yet.

As many of you people know by now, Huawei P9 will be one of the few smartphones that will feature a dual-camera setup. We hope that the other lens of the glasses that we will receive after the P9’s announcement will come along with a testing unit so that we can share our impression with our readers.

Until then, check out some of the pictures we’ve taken and learn a little bit more about the upcoming Huawei P9, which we hear will be available in four variants.

Four versions will be announced, but only three will come with dual-camera setup

Out of the four versions of Huawei P9, three of them will feature dual-camera setups whereas the fourth, the Huawei P9 Lite, will sport a single camera sensor on the back.

Hardware-wise, Huawei P9 will come equipped with a powerful Kirin 955 chipset, paired with a Mali-T880 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM.

The flagship handset will pack 64GB, but there will be other versions with less or more storage inside. Hopefully, a microSD card slot for memory expansion will be included too.

The dual-camera setup on the back should feature 8-megapixel and 13-megapixel camera sensors, but we’re also expecting the P9 to include a decent secondary camera on the front.

We’ll be reporting on the Huawei P9 on April 6, the day the flagship should go official, so stay tuned for more on this one.
