14 DAY TRIAL // As November 3 approaches, information on the upcoming Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro continues to surface online. The latest suggests that the smartphone could come with 6GB of RAM and a dual-camera setup on the back.
It seems that renders and a list of specifications for the upcoming Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro have leaked on Chinese social network Weibo (as spotted by GizmoChina). The image appears to be the pre-launch page of the smartphone and it reveals some details regarding the device.
The list of specs includes some information that we’ve already known, together with the indication that the smartphone could have two fingerprint sensors, one on the back and one in the front. Take this information with a grain of salt, though, as it’s a bit unpractical to have two fingerprint sensors on a smartphone and Huawei will most likely stick with just the rear sensor, as spotted in leaked images.
However, there’s no home button on the front of the phone so it could easily house another fingerprint scanner. And the fingerprint sensor will surely be a highly capable one, considering how fast the sensor was on the Mate 8.

Moving on to other specs, the smartphone may sport a 5.9-inch 2K dual curved display and run a Kirin 960 chipset. The dual-camera setup on the back would consist of a 20MP sensor, coupled with a 12MP camera.
Moreover, the phone would have 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and would run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Battery capacity isn’t mentioned in the latest leak, but it’s expected to reach 4,000mAh, considering that Huawei has also released a teaser saying that the phone will satisfy consumers’ needs for a highly capable battery in a smartphone.
Mate 9 is also expected to have USB Type-C ports and come with an 8MP front camera. The Pro variant is said to cost $1,300, but all will be revealed during the unveiling, which is just a few days from now.
