The smartphone won’t feature Leica-made lenses

One of the most interesting flagship smartphones launched in the first half of the year, Huawei P9, and its more advanced sibling, P9 Plus, are likely to receive a cheaper model next month.

Huawei P9 is also one of the first smartphones that come with dual-camera setup, which might become mainstream in the next couple of years since many handset makers are taking into consideration the adoption of this setup.

Until more companies launch smartphones with two rear cameras, Huawei plans to release one more handset that’s said to include two photo snappers on the back side. The new device is aimed to make the new dual-camera setup more affordable to those who don’t have the budget for a flagship like the P9.

According to a new report from PhoneRadar, Huawei Honor V8 is the next smartphone coming from the Chinese handset maker that will feature dual cameras on the back. The information is confirmed by a teaser released by Huawei, which states that the company will launch a new product on May 10.

Unfortunately, aside from the launch date and the fact that it will come with a dual-camera setup, there’s no telling what the Honor V8 will pack under the hood.

Kirin 950 and 4GB RAM inside?

Rumor also has it that Huawei Honor V8’s dual cameras won’t feature Leica-made lens, which won’t be such an issue if the Chinese company opts for Sony lens instead, but we will see that next month.

The smartphone could also be powered by a Kirin 950 processor, which would automatically put it in the high-end range, but there’s no telling how much RAM Huawei is willing to include without increasing the phone’s price.

Some say that it could pack either 3GB or 4GB RAM, but it’s a huge difference, especially when it comes to the price. Naturally, the smartphone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow onboard. Let’s hope that it will come cheaper than the Huawei P9, although the smartphone isn’t that expensive for a flagship.
