14 DAY TRIAL // The P10 and P10 Plus were certainly the main stars of Huawei's MWC 2017 press conference, so the new EMUI 5.1 that comes inside these flagships might have been overlooked by many.
In order to avoid missing on any details about its new Emotion UI 5.1, Huawei has decided to list all the improvements and new features that the new user interface brings to its smartphones.
Before going into details, it's worth mentioning that EMUI 5.1 will be exclusively available on the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. However, the Chinese company is expected to bring the new UI to other smartphones in the coming months. It remains to be seen which phones will get it and when.
The most important new features introduced in EMUI 5.1, Ultra Memory and Ultra Response, are supposed to improve the phone's performance.
According to Huawei, Ultra Memory is a new algorithm with focus on recycling, which is expected to free RAM faster than usual.
More importantly, the new feature has been designed to learn from user's habits and will speed up app launching and resuming by keeping only those important apps in the RAM, GSMArena reports.
With UltraResponse, Huawei customers will benefit from faster touch response thanks to a new driver added by the Chinese company. The P10 and P10 Plus come with lower touch latency displays, so the driver will include support for predictive finger tracking making their screens as fast and accurate as the iPhone's.
Another new feature included in the new EMUI 5.1 is “Highlights,” a new gallery option that automatically indexes photos and sorts them by places and people. It can also generate videos with the best moments.
Many other improvements to the Calendar app, sharing options and wallpapers will be added as well. So, if you're rocking a Huawei smartphone, you will have to wait for the company to announce when the new EMUI 5.1 will be available for your device.
