14 DAY TRIAL // HTC is close to announcing the highly anticipated U 11 premium smartphone, and details about the new device continue to surface. YouTuber iVenyaWay posted a hands-on video of the HTC U 11, revealing the unannounced smartphone in all of its glory.
HTC U 11 appears to come with a glossy reflective finish on the back, and HTC will offer the phone in a plenitude of color options, including white, light and dark blue, red and black. Moreover, the HTC branding appears on the back, while the front of the device features a physical home button with an embedded fingerprint scanner.
The video also reveals how the Edge Sense feature on the new phone will work. Users will be able to squeeze their smartphones in order to launch various applications. The Edge Sense app was briefly listed in the Play store a few days ago, but it was unclear what configuration options HTC would provide. The video sheds some light on the matter and shows that users will be able to adjust different squeeze levels to pick the one they’re most comfortable with.
An animation is displayed whenever the user squeezes the frame, and just before app shortcuts are shown on the screen. Edge Sense will have the capacity to capture images and record videos, as well as launch Google Assistant with a simple squeeze.

Moreover, the upcoming smartphone comes with a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille at the bottom, while there’s no sight of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Still, the video confirms that HTC will provide users with an adaptor in the retail box.
Inside, the HTC U 11 features the latest Snapdragon 835 platform, together with 6GB of RAM, and it runs Android Nougat out of the box. Internal storage reaches 64GB, while battery capacity is 3,000mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The front lens on the HTC U 11 is said to be 16MP, while the rear camera will have a 12MP sensor. The phone will be announced tomorrow, while some reports say that it could be released as early as May 19 for the rumored price of $662.
