Only a few days are left until HTC debuts its flagship smartphone for the year, the U 11. To build hype around the May 16 announcement, HTC released yet another teaser video, hinting towards a new feature on the smartphone.

According to HTC’s 9-second teaser video, HTC U 11 will come with 360-degree sound recording, aside from the smartphone’s main selling point, the squeezable frame. Indeed, HTC U 11’s Edge Sense frame will allow users to simply squeeze their phones and get quick access to multiple icons displayed on the side of the device. The video doesn’t reveal much else, except for confirming the unveil date, May 16.

The specs of HTC’s latest flagship surfaced multiple times, as the smartphone was already spotted in benchmarks, which revealed that it would run the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform coupled with Adreno 540 graphics processing unit, together with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

4GB of RAM and Android 7.1.1 Nougat

Regarding memory, HTC U 11 is expected to feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, possibly with the option to add more using a microSD card. Moreover, the smartphone could come with a 16MP front camera for snapping selfies and conducting video calls.

Other than that, it’s expected to come with a 12MP rear camera, USB Type-C port and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with HTC Sense UI on top. HTC will also remove the 3.5mm headphone jack on the U 11 and provide users with an adaptor in the retail box.

The smartphone will feature a fingerprint sensor integrated into the physical home button in the front, and IP57 certification for protection against dust and water damages. HTC will announce pricing and availability for the U 11 on May 16, when all of the smartphone’s features and specs will be revealed.
