The smartphone was initially rumored to arrive in February

We reported to you a few days ago that a certain Chinese retailer confirmed it would sell the HTC One X9 beginning late February or early March.

That made us assume the smartphone would be officially unveiled around the Lunar New Year holiday, which falls between February 6 and 14.

Well, it looks like HTC might have something else in mind since a teaser that has just been leaked suggests that One X9 could be revealed on December 24.

The One X9 will be the first in a new lineup of mid-range Android smartphones to be launched by the Taiwanese handset maker.

HTC fans who were expecting another high-end device will probably be disappointed to learn that the One X9 is likely to pack a Media-Tek Helio X10 processor inside.

Even if MediaTek's chipset isn't that bad, it's no match for Huawei Kirin 950 or Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processors.

MediaTek Helio X10 and 2GB of RAM

Aside from that, rumor has it HTC One X9 might sport a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

The One X9 is expected to feature a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which provides advanced photography functions, as well as a secondary UltraPixel camera on the front.

There shouldn't be more than 2GB of RAM inside, and lights should be kept up by a decent 3,000 mAh battery. BoomSound speakers will be implemented as well, along with either Lollipop or Marshmallow.

Since HTC One X9 has leaked in many live pictures in the last couple of days, we already know what the phone looks like.

However, the full specification list is still a mystery, which is why the upcoming announcement, probably set for December 24, is a more important one.

Even if HTC doesn't announce the One X9 tomorrow, it shouldn't take too long for the smartphone to be officially unveiled.
