This is not the first time we hear about the HTC One X9, but as we get more details on the Taiwanese company's newest smartphones, we get a glimpse of what HTC's roadmap for 2016 looks like.

And it appears that the first smartphone to be launched by HTC next year will be the One X9, a mid-range handset with a bold design.

After successfully launching the stunning-looking HTC One A9, the handset maker has another stylish product in the pipeline, the One X9. As mentioned earlier, HTC One X9 is a mid-range smartphone that belongs to the phablet category.

We've already had our fair share of leaks about the smartphone, but here is another one shedding more light on what the One X9 will look like.

The press renders leaked directly from China show a metal-clad smartphone that is sleek and stylish at the same time. Although the smartphone does look great in these pictures, HTC fans might be disappointed by some of the choices inside the One X9.

First of all, we had expected the phone to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box, but the latest rumors claim the One X9 is powered by Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

A 5.5-inch phablet with MediaTek CPU

Also, the smartphone comes equipped with a 2.2GHz octa-core processor, which is probably provided by MediaTek. The phone's CPU is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 1TB via microSD card slot.

Since this is a phablet, HTC One X9 boasts a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution display.

There's also a 13-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, dual-tone LED flash and video recording while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

We also know HTC One X9 measures 153.2x75.9x7.99 mm and drains energy from a decent enough 3,000 mAh battery.
