HTC China offered a teaser yesterday that suggested the company might unveil the rumored One X9 mid-range smartphone on December 24.

It looks like the teaser was valid as the Taiwanese handset maker has just introduced the HTC One X9 in China. Unlike the One A9 that sells for around $430 outright in the Mainland, the new HTC One X9 will be available for purchase for just $370.

Obviously, the One X9 will be much more expensive when launched in other countries, but there's no way its price will be higher than One A9's.

It's still unclear what version of Android the HTC One X9 will run, but we hope it will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box.

But let's move on to the actual specs and see what the smartphone has to offer. First of all, HTC One X9 comes equipped with MediaTek Helio X10 processor inside, coupled with no less than 3GB of RAM and 32GB if internal memory.

3GB RAM is the standard for mid-range smartphones

The 3GB RAM amount has become a standard for mid-range devices, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the HTC has decided to include this feature inside the One X9 as well.

On the back, the handset packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), LED flash and 4K video recording. There's also a secondary UltraPixel camera on the front.

HTC One X9 sports a decent 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It also comes with HTC BoomSound speakers on the front and a 3,000 mAh battery inside.

Unlike the One A9, HTC One X9 does no feature a fingerprint sensor, which is probably one of the reasons the latter is much cheaper.

Although there's no word on availability outside China yet, we expect HTC to launch the One X9 in other countries beginning next year.
