HTC silently launched the dual SIM Desire 828 in China back in November but did not offer any details on its international availability.

Fast forward more than a month and it looks like the Desire 828 has just been officially introduced in India where it will be available for purchase beginning December 14.

According to a new report, HTC Desire 828 Dual-SIM will be exclusive to Flipkart and customers will be able to buy it for Rs 19,990 outright, which is about $300 or €270.

The Desire 828 Dual-SIM is a mid-range smartphone that ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. There's no word on whether or not the smartphone will eventually receive a Marshmallow upgrade in the future.

The phone comes equipped with a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, a Mali-T760 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Also, HTC Desire 828 Dual-SIM packs 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card slot. At the back, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel camera with BSI sensor, LED flash, OIS (optical image stabilization) and full HD (1080p) video recording.

There's also a secondary 4-UltraPixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls. The Desire 828 Dual-SIM sports a 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and drains energy from a 2,800 mAh battery that supports Quick Charge.

Quite overpriced for what it has to offer

As many of you probably noticed by now, there are far cheaper smartphones available in India that offer similar specs. Still, the Desire 828 Dual-SIM is here to stay, so get one starting next week if you want.

“The all new HTC Desire 828 Dual SIM gives you top-tier imaging and advanced features at a price you’ll love. We are proud to unveil the first HTC Desire phone to feature Optical Image Stabilization in its main camera and HTC UltraSelfie for a remarkable imaging experience and unparalleled selfies.

“With the HTC Desire 828 Dual SIM, we deliver an exquisite and personalised experience to our customers,” said Mr. Faisal Siddiqui, president HTC South Asia.
