It looks like the One M9e wasn't the only smartphone launched in China by HTC. The Taiwanese company silently introduced another mid-range Android phone, the Desire 828.

HTC Desire 828 is available for pre-order in China only. Customers can get one for just 1,599 yuan, which is about $255 or €230. It can be purchased directly from the company's online store, a new report confirms.

The main selling point of the HTC Desire 828 is the 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, OIS (optical image stabilization) and video recording.

The smartphone also packs a decent 4-UltraPixel camera in the front that features f/2.0 aperture and full HD (1080p) video recording.

A mid-range smartphone with octa-core CPU and LTE support

As the title says, HTC Desire 828 offers dual-SIM support (nano + nano). In addition, the mid-range smartphone provides users with multiple connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.

Also, the Desire 828 boasts large 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. There's no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass coating, though.

HTC has also confirmed its mid-range device is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Moreover, users will be able to further expand storage up to 2TB via microSD card slot.

Obviously, the smartphone comes preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with HTC Sense 6.0 UI on top of it.

Other highlights of the HTC Desire 828 include a 2,800 mAh battery, dual front-facing BoomSound speaker with Dolby audio, FM Radio, and Quick Charge support.

It's unclear whether or not HTC will launch the Desire 828 internationally, but it's almost certain that it will make it available in other Asian markets in the next couple of weeks.
