14 DAY TRIAL // Huawei’s Honor brand has just announced a new smartphone, the Honor 6X. This is a mid-range handset that was made official during an event held in China, according to ForeArena.
The new Honor 6X comes with some satisfactory specs, like a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display and an octa-core Kirin 655 16nm processor, and will be offered in multiple color variants.
The processor has four cores clocked at 2.1GHz and four at 1.7GHz and is coupled with a Mali T830-MP2 graphics processing unit.
Honor 6X has a 12MP rear camera with LED flash, 6P lens, 1.25um pixel size, as well as PDAF. The phone comes with a dual-camera setup on the back, with the second sensor having a capacity of 2MP, designed for depth of field and background blur.
Honor 6X comes with a fingerprint scanner and runs Android 6.0
Front camera capacity reaches 8MP for selfies and video calls. The fingerprint scanner on the back can unlock the smartphone in just 0.3 seconds. Other specs include hybrid dual SIM support and 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS connectivity options.
The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, with EMUI 4.1 on top. In addition, Honor 6X measures 150.9×72.6×8.2mm and weighs 162 grams, and its unibody metal design is quite similar to that of its predecessor, the Honor 5X.
Based on RAM capacity and internal storage, the Honor 6X is offered in several variants. One variant will feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and will carry a price tag of about $148, while the model with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage will be sold for approximately $192.
Additionally, the Honor 6X model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of memory will be marketed for $237. The smartphone will be made available in multiple colors, including gold, grey, silver, blue and rose gold. Orders for the Honor 6X are already live in China and the device will officially go on sale starting October 25.
