Video game developer Dambuster and publisher Deep Silver are continuing a slightly low-profile promotional campaign for their coming Homefront: The Revolution with a new Ignite trailer that's set to show off how gamers will be able to spark the flame of a new uprising in Philadelphia to take down the occupying Korean forces.

The title aims to be as organic as possible when delivering missions and a system called Hearts and Minds will contribute to this by allowing players to shift the balance of public opinion by performing missions that take out important assets of the KPA.

As revolutionaries in the new Homefront manage to disrupt the activities of their enemies and their surveillance networks, more civilians will be drawn to the fight and the experience of tackling some objectives will change significantly based on how the crowds react.

The developers are saying that players will want to experiment to see how their unique play style mixes with the Hearts and Minds system and what kind of special challenges it creates for their character.

Homefront: The Revolution will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft on May 17 in North America and three days later in Europe and the rest of the world.

The coming shooter will integrate levels from TimeSplitters 2

The studio has chosen to take a slice out of the classic title in order to deliver an interesting Easter Egg in Homefront: The Revolution, with gamers able to explore both Chicago and Syberia if they want by using an arcade cabinet that is hidden somewhere in Philadelphia.

The graphics and mechanics of TimeSplitters 2 have not been tweaked in any way since the era of the PlayStation 2, and original Xbox, and the developers say that prison areas are where interested fans should focus their searches.

Dambuster is seen as the heir of the United Kingdom operation of Crytek, which itself was once named Free Radical Design and worked on the series, but the intellectual property for it is still held by Crytek.

The new Homefront itself started life under the leadership of THQ and then was taken over by Crytek before Deep Silver became interested in the franchise.

Revolution is designed to take some of the core ideas of the original and enhance them by offering a fully open world and a wide variety of ways for gamers to deal with the Korean invaders and secure a free Philadelphia.
