Much of the recent talk about Halo 5: Guardians has been linked to the single-player portion of the game, with the development team at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft delivering a full look at the opening cinematic for the shooter.

But the involved companies are also carefully working on the multiplayer experience, and it seems that one of their aims is to make sure that matches are as fair as they can be for all those involved.

A Halo Waypoint update explains that, for the competitive-driven Arena mode in Halo 5: Guardians, the studio has targeted a range of spawn exploits and other sneaky advantages that some players use in order to gain an advantage over their peers.

343 Industries states, "Our goal with Arena was to provide a fine-tuned, traditional Halo Spawning system that suits the expectations of esports and our competitive community. To be clear, our goals are not to completely remove map control or spawn control from our competitive players, but to provide an experience that requires a balanced skillset to master, without a single strategy to dominate the enemy."

The company explains that it will work closely with the community in order to make sure that all the other exploits that are found after Halo 5: Guardians arrives are fixed as quickly as possible.

Halo 5: Guardians aims to make Arena a relevant eSports

Microsoft has made it clear that it wants the game mode to be carefully balanced and to offer all the tools, from a spectator mode to carefully chosen maps, required to make it a hit with the competitive fans of the franchise.

The company is also working with eSports organizations to create events built around the Halo 5: Guardians Arena once the shooter is launched.

A major tournament that will start in the winter of the year is designed to show off the capabilities of the shooter and will have a solid prize pool.

343 Industries is already working with the community to test the Arena experience and make sure that it is balanced.

For those who want a more relaxed and team-based mode, the coming Master Chief powered shooter introduces the all-new Warzone, which mixes PvP and PvE.

Halo 5: Guardians will be offered only on the Xbox One on October 27 and gamers can pick up a special bundle for it that includes a home console.
