Video game developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are announcing that they are re-introducing the Warzone Turbo mode to the shooter until May 4, allowing players to experience a more streamlined set of gameplay mechanics that make battles more spectacular than in the normal version.

The information comes from the official Twitter account of the series and does not say whether the studio has made any sort of tweaks since the mode was first introduced.

Warzone Turbo is a new take on the core mode of Halo 5: Guardians that allows gamers to reach level nine as a match starts and to regenerate energy very quickly, which opens up a new set of tactics and access to the most powerful and rare REQ cards.

The entire mode was created by the team at 343 Industries to test the changes they were making to Warzone, and they found it interesting enough to release to the wider community.

It's unclear why the access period for Turbo will end on May 4 or whether the studio has plans to make it a permanent part of the game at some point in the future.

Halo 5: Guardians is preparing for Memories of Reach

Before the end of May, the shooter is set to offer access to a new downloadable content pack that will add more maps, maybe a new mode and access to some new REQs that gamers can use to boost their capabilities in combat.

343 Industries has not yet offered any kind of details about the content but has said that it wants to introduce even more options for advanced controller settings and other tweaks for the user interface.

It's not clear yet whether Memories of Reach will introduce the Infection mode, which has been getting quite a bit of detail from the studio recently, or whether the developers are planning to introduce another new mode.

During the summer, Halo 5: Guardians will also get access to a new Warzone Firefight experience, which is entirely focused on Player versus Environment mechanics, with the studio saying that it will improve it based on the recent feedback that has been offered by the community via beta matches.

For fans of Halo who want more content linked to the game, Spartan Games will launch a new miniatures tabletop game called Ground Command this year, allowing them to relieve the battles between the UNSC and the Covenant that took place on Reach.
