The new Adversary experience is focused around four teams

Video game developer Rockstar is announcing that the first big update of the year for the Online mode in Grand Theft Auto V is now live and allows gamers to get access to a new type of experience and to two new vehicles from Benny's.

Players will be able to play Drop Zone, a new take on the Adversary Mode featuring teams of paratroopers who jump from Cargobobs and, upon landing, try to reach and gain control over a small area.

Up to four teams and 16 players can take part in the new mode and Rockstar claims that the action is fast and chaotic and offers plenty of space for impressive reversals of fortune, especially for those who manage to act as a team.

The official announcement adds, "First team to hold the drop zone for a total of two non-continuous minutes wins. There are five Drop Zone maps, each requiring a unique approach to deal with changes in terrain and cover. These can be found at Pillbox Hill, Richman College, Elysian Island, the Mirror Park cul-de-sac and the Sisyphus Theater."

Gamers who do not want to take part in a new Player versus Player experience will be able to go to Benny's in order to pick up the Karin Sultan RS and the Bravado Banshee 900R, along with a range of mods that can make them equal to the Zentorno and the T20 when it comes to performance.

Rockstar is also planning to launch a range of events for the weekend to celebrate the arrival of Drop Zone and the two vehicles, and it seems that the studio is also planning to introduce a special content update associated with the coming Valentine's Day.

The company seems to be aiming to introduce something new to the title every month.

GTA V might soon also get an announcement about single-player DLC

It's clear that Rockstar is aiming to keep the Online mode interesting for 2016 because it represents the main reason for the impressive sales that the newest installment in the open world series has generated across all the platforms on which it was launched.

The bigger February content drop might also feature a range of updates for GTA V.

But a recent tweet from a voice actor, containing an image taken inside Rockstar while he was wearing a full motion capture suit, raised hopes among fans that the long-rumored single-player downloadable content might soon get an official announcement.

According to sources, the plan is to expand the world of GTA V and to introduce an all-new character.

There are also rumors that the company is no longer interested in single-player adventures and that everything will be focused on making Online more interesting while also giving players the tools to put together their events and missions.

Rockstar has not offered any sort of official comment on the matter and will probably continue to keep quiet as long as it does not have a clear launch date to share with the public.
