14 DAY TRIAL // Do you like souls-like games? If the answer is yes and you don't have pixelated graphics, we have just the thing for you: it's called Eldest Souls and is coming in just a few months. Previously announced for PC and Nintendo Switch, Eldest Souls has just been confirmed for current and previous generation consoles too.
Along with this announcement, developer Fallen Flag Studio revealed that Eldest Souls will be launched in Q2 2021. Described as an “intense boss-rush action game,” Eldest Souls mixes elements of souls-like and classic action games and features a gritty and beautiful pixel art style.
“Over the last year, we’ve been hard at work making Eldest Souls the best it can be. The response to the trailers and the demo during the Steam Game Festival lit a fire under us and we’re further excited by the chance to bring this experience to even more players. We can’t wait to see Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players challenge the Old Gods,” said Francesco Barsotti, Fallen Flag Studio Co-Founder and Programmer.
In Eldest Souls, you'll have to battle and kill the Old Gods who have broken free from their long imprisonment. No related to Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive, but the Old Gods are supposed to unleash “a great Desolation,” which you will have to stop.
Whenever players manage to kill a god, they will gain unique powers and abilities. More importantly, players get to build and customize their players allowing them to adapt their playstyle against each god.
In fact, developers promise a unique character progression system, as well as a bucketload of powers and abilities that can be combined to create hundreds of unique builds.
Those who love an appealing story, not just good gameplay, will be pleased to know that Eldest Souls is set in an ancient Citadel, which was also the prison of the Old Gods. Throughout the game, you'll meet interesting NPC, take on exciting quests and uncover dark mysteries. We'll keep an eye out for more on this one, so stick around.
