14 DAY TRIAL // Showcased during Nintendo's Indie World showcase a few days ago, Eldest Souls will be coming to Switch sometime this summer. The game was initially announced for PC and a demo is already available for download via Steam.
As the name suggests, Eldest Souls is a souls-like game where players will be fighting the Old Gods who have broken free from their long imprisonment. Players will step into the shoes of a lone knight, a great warrior who's the final hope of the civilization in the face of the Old Gods' wrath.
Developed by Fallen Flag Studio, the pixel-art boss rush game promises to offer a challenging experience to fans of the souls-like genre. Along with the announcement, Switch gameplay footage was shown off during the event, showcasing zones, NPCs and the Old Gods players will face in Eldest Souls.
It's no mystery that your main objective in Eldest Souls will be to kill all the Old Gods, a task that developers warn that it won't be easy to achieve. In fact, you should be ready to be overwhelmed by brutal, challenging encounters, which only the most determined will survive.
Eldest Souls does seems to feature some lore that can be discovered by exploring the mysterious ancient Citadel, the prison of the Old Gods. Apparently, the monument to humanity’s hubris has long been forgotten, and something dark has taken root deep within, so it's up to you to learn who or what's responsible for the Old Gods' awakening.
Moreover, every fight against the Old Gods will present a unique challenge, so make sure to learn every boss's moveset if you want to be successful. Once you kill an Old God, you'll be able to claim their power, unlock new talents and abilities, and use everything at your disposal to slay them all.
