Report claims new Pixel would come with upgraded charging

Google’s Pixel 6 is slowly but surely becoming one of the most anticipated phone releases of the year, especially as more leaks are making their way to the web, providing us with a glimpse at what to expect when the search giant takes the wraps off the device.

One of the most recent such reports includes information related to the charging speed that would be supported by the Pixel 6. Because, as it turns out, Google wants its new Pixel to charge faster than its predecessor, and for this purpose, it has also designed a new charger.

Oddly enough, this new charger wouldn’t be included in the box because, you know, it’s all about the environment these days, and just like Apple and Samsung, Google no longer wants to sell such a device unless you’re willing to pay extra for it.

So the new 33W charger developed for the Google Pixel 6 wouldn’t be included by default in the box, but most likely, you’ll really want to benefit from this upgrade.

Bigger batteries, faster charging

The Pixel 5 and Pixel 5a both come with 18W charging, so the upgrade to 33W charging is supposed to generate quite a notable increase for device owners. The Pixel 6 is expected to come with a 4,614 mAh battery, while the Pixel 6 Pro will sport a 5,000 mAh unit.

So if the data published by 91Mobiles is accurate, then the new Pixels should charge faster and also offer better autonomy, though it obviously remains to be seen how demanding Android 12 ends up becoming.

The same report indicates the foldable Pixel has been pushed back, though right now, no specifics are available as to when it could see the daylight. It was original expected to launch in the fourth quarter of the year, so if the report is accurate, then we might actually get our hands on the device next year.
