Samsung is working hard on its latest flagship, the Galaxy Note 7. The smartphone is expected to be unveiled on August 2, but it seems that there have been some major uncertainties even regarding its name. Now, another report surfaces, confirming the 7 moniker for the upcoming Galaxy Note device.

Samsung's next smartphone is one of the most anticipated devices projected to debut in the next few months. There have been quite a few rumors regarding it, but one of the biggest questions has remained its name. Samsung was said to plan to jump one Note generation and go straight to the 7 moniker in the upcoming Note's name.

Thus, Samsung intends to bring the Note series in line with the Galaxy S series and avoid confusion among consumers, who might think that the Galaxy Note 6 isn't the last model in the lineup.

Evan Blass from @evleaks has posted what seems to be the official logo on the Galaxy Note 7. The leakster has also revealed that the upcoming device will incorporate an iris scanner. It is believed that Samsung might only release an edge variant of the Note 7, with a 5.8-inch curved QHD Super AMOLED display and a 12MP primary camera.

Galaxy Note 7 should come with 6GB of RAM and a 4,000mAh battery

The front camera should reach 5MP, with the smartphone expected to also pack 6GB of RAM, a microSD card slot, and a powerful 4,000mAh battery.

An iris scanner is likely to be on the device, together with IP68 certification, as well as Samsung Focus app for more productivity. Evan Blass has also suggested that the Galaxy Note 7 will be available in three color options, namely black, silver, and blue.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 should be released on August 2, 2016, but that has yet to be confirmed too.
