Gearbox teased its upcoming Bloody Harvest event back in September but promised to offer Borderlands 3 players more details closer to launch. Today, the studio revealed the free Bloody Harvest event will arrive for all Borderlands 3 players on all platforms on October 24.

The free seasonal event for Borderlands 3 will run from October 24 to December 5, Gearbox confirmed in a blog post. Also, besides the information unveiled last month, the studio shared more details about how the event full unfold once it's live.

First off, if you're playing Borderlands 3, you must have progressed far enough in the story campaign to have unlocked Sanctuary III, which happens early on. Once Bloody Harvest goes live, players should notice a weird NPC aboard their ships – Maurice, a friendly Saurian who can speak via a device of Tannis' own invention.

The new NPC will offer players a repeatable mission that must be completed to reach Heck, the spooky setting for Borderlands 3's Bloody Harvest event. You'll have to collect a certain amount of Hecktoplasm, which will drop from slain Haunted enemies throughout the event. Maurice will open a portal to Heck aboard Sanctuary III that will transport players to the eerie domain of Captain Haunt and his undead minions.

All enemies in Heck have a chance to drop gear that will only be available during Bloody Harvest, such as the Fearmonger, a new Legendary shotgun that packs a supernatural punch. Also, drops might include Anointed weapons that feature the new Terror mechanic introduced in Bloody Harvest.

Haunter enemies can inflict the Terror debuff, which affects players' aims and partially cloud vision, but with these new Anointed effects, players can turn Terror into a beneficial boost of power. Last but not least, Bloody Harvest adds a set of seasonal cosmetic items which won't drop in Heck but are still exclusive to this specific event. During Bloody Harvest, players have a chance to earn a skin for each of the four Vault Hunters, a seasonal ECHO Device skin, a shrunken head Weapon Trinket, and a ghostly Global Weapon skin.
