14 DAY TRIAL // Google officially unveiled the new Android Wear 2.0 earlier this month and said the OS would be available for compatible smartwatches in the coming months.
Along with Android Wear 2.0, Google also introduced its first smartwatches, built by LG, the LG Watch Sport and Watch Style. Both are already available for purchase in the United States, but they will make their debut in other countries in the coming weeks.
One piece of information revealed by Google, which is of great importance to those who own an Android Wear smartwatch, is the list of wearable devices that will get the new OS.
Although all three Android Wear smartwatches launched by Fossil were confirmed to receive the new version of the OS, the maker did not reveal when exactly the update would be available for download.
Well, it looks like Fossil has recently confirmed Android Wear 2.0 will arrive on all its supported smartwatches sometime in mid-March. One owner of Fossil's Q Founder smartwatch asked the company when he would get the update to Android Wear 2.0.
The company's reply is more than enough evidence that Android Wear 2.0 is just two weeks away: “The update is expected to be released in mid-March to all our devices.”
The initial list of compatible Android Wear 2.0 devices contains three Fossil smartwatches: Fossil Q Wander, Fossil Q Marshal, and Fossil Q Founder. So, it's not just the Fossil Q Founder that will get the update next month, but the other two smartwatches as well.
Here are the other smartwatches expected to receive Android Wear 2.0 updates, hopefully, in the not-so-distant future:
Moto 360 Gen 2, Moto 360 Sport, LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, LG Watch Urbane, LG G Watch R, Polar M600, Casio Smart Outdoor Watch, Nixon Mission, Tag Heuer Connected, Michael Kors Access Bradshaw Smartwatch, Michael Kors Access Dylan Smartwatch, Huawei Watch, Huawei Watch Ladies, Asus ZenWatch 2, and Asus ZenWatch 3.
