OnePlus 3 is just a few days away from its official release, sometime at the start of June, and it seems that company officials continue to increase the hype over the next OnePlus flagship smartphone. OnePlus CEO Liu Zuohu has released an image captured with the OnePlus 3 front camera.

The image was taken with the smartphone’s front camera equipped with an 8MP sensor, which seems to do a good job even in the dark corners of the setting. The image on GizmoChina isn’t accompanied by any details on the device’s specs or at least the official date of release.

Still, rumors suggest that the OnePlus 3 should sport a Snapdragon 820 chipset and 16MP camera on the back. It might come in two variants, one with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage while the second with 6GB of RAM and 64GB memory.

OnePlus 3 should have a 3000 mAh battery onboard. The handset is set to come with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display and Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box. Prices are set to start at $354 (€317) for the 4GB RAM + 32GB version and $384 (€345) for 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM version.

OnePlus 3 will be sold in a virtual reality environment

Yesterday, OnePlus announced its plans for the OnePlus 3 launch event. The company intends to launch the smartphone in the world’s first-ever VR shopping experience, which allows users to purchase the handset before anyone else. The company also gave away 30,000 Loop VR devices for fans to watch the event. OnePlus created a virtual reality space station for the OnePlus 3 launch.

However, the event can be viewed with any standard VR headset, and OnePlus doesn’t intend to market the Loop VR. Since the headsets will start shipping on June 6, the launch event should take place shortly after that.
