News on Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 continues to pour in, and images leak on a daily basis, but benchmark tests have created some confusion when it comes to the specs of the upcoming flagship. The iris scanner technology has been confirmed today in leaked pictures, and new information shows that the FCC has already approved Galaxy Note 7 models for US carriers.

The info revealed by GalaxyClub suggests that the FCC has approved a total of 6 Galaxy Note 7 models, among which one for Canada. The models include the SM-N930V, SM-N930A, SM-N930P, SM-N930T, SM-N930R4, and SM-N930W8. This means that the smartphone will be made available at Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and in Canada.

All of the versions approved by the Federal Communications Commission will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, which was released just a few days ago. Some have said that Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 will be the first smartphone to run this powerful processor, but it seems that ASUS' ZenFone 3 Deluxe has beat the South Korean manufacturer to the punch.

The Galaxy Note 7 will come with USB Type-C port

Galaxy's Note 7 is also expected to come with 4GB of RAM, or at least the variants designed for US carriers. A recent benchmark test has indicated that the variant for Verizon will have 4GB of RAM, but there's still a slight chance that the handset will have the same RAM capacity as on the OnePlus 3.

The Galaxy Note 7 is believed to sport an iris scanner and USB Type-C port. Battery capacity could reach 3,600mAh, although some hearsay hints that the device could even feature a 4,000mAh capacity. The display is set to come with QHD resolution, but there's still a debate on the screen size, as some rumors say that it could reach 5.7, 5.8 or even 6 inches.

The price of the smartphone is said to reach €849 in Europe, but official information on cost and availability should be offered during the August 2 release event.
